Custom Laser Cut Wooden Wall Clock – Precision Crafted from Maple Wood
At Modelmakers, we regularly invest time in personal design projects to push the boundaries of our laser cutting and product development skills. By experimenting with new techniques, intricate designs, and innovative manufacturing methods, we’re able to refine our craftsmanship and develop ideas that can later be incorporated into bespoke client commissions.
This elegant laser cut wooden wall clock was created as one of these in-house projects. Designed entirely from scratch using precision CAD software, the clock features a highly detailed layered mandala-inspired pattern, combining modern styling with traditional woodworking techniques to create a striking decorative timepiece.
Every component was precision laser cut from 9mm premium maple wood on our CO₂ laser cutting machine. The intricate internal pattern and raised numerals were designed as multiple layers, creating depth, shadow, and a premium three-dimensional appearance that simply cannot be achieved with a single-piece design.
Following laser cutting, each layer was carefully sanded, aligned, and assembled by hand using high-quality PVA wood adhesive to ensure perfect positioning and long-lasting durability. The layered construction not only enhances the visual impact of the clock but also showcases the precision achievable through modern digital fabrication.
The finished clock is powered by a reliable battery-operated silent quartz movement, providing accurate timekeeping while maintaining a clean, minimalist appearance. The combination of natural maple wood, precision laser-cut detailing, and layered construction creates a contemporary wall clock that is equally suited to homes, offices, studios, and commercial interiors.
