Lantern Box – Bespoke Laser Cut Wooden Whisky Presentation Box
The Lantern Box is one of our signature bespoke presentation boxes, designed and manufactured for a premium whisky brand seeking distinctive packaging for a limited production release. The brief was to create a luxury wooden presentation box that would stand apart from conventional packaging while reflecting the craftsmanship and prestige of the whisky it contained.
Inspired by traditional lanterns, we developed a contemporary design featuring intricate laser-cut lattice panels on three sides, allowing subtle glimpses of the bottle inside while creating an elegant play of light and shadow. The decorative pattern gives the box a unique architectural appearance, making it as much a display piece as it is protective packaging.
The box was handcrafted from American White Oak, selected for its beautiful grain, strength, and premium finish. After fabrication, the timber was treated with a light dark oak stain to enrich the natural character of the wood before being sealed with a durable clear matte lacquer for long-lasting protection.
The intricate side panels were precision laser cut to create the detailed lattice pattern, while the remaining structural components were carefully machined and assembled to ensure strength and dimensional accuracy. Every panel was hand finished before final assembly, resulting in crisp edges and exceptional attention to detail.
Inside the presentation box, we designed a custom high-density foam insert that securely houses the whisky bottle. The precision-cut foam protects the bottle during transport while ensuring it is beautifully presented when the box is opened.
The combination of premium hardwood, precision laser cutting and bespoke internal packaging creates a presentation box that delivers both visual impact and practical protection. Manufactured in a limited production run, the Lantern Box demonstrates our ability to combine traditional woodworking with modern digital manufacturing techniques to produce luxury packaging of the highest standard.
Every stage of the project—from concept development and CAD design through to laser cutting, fabrication, finishing and final assembly—was completed in-house to ensure complete quality control.
